Workshop III ~ The Descent

The Descent

'Deep into the earth I go, deep into the earth I go, hold my hand friend, hold my hand.'

So here we go… to dance at dawn we must first descend into the hard, frosted and mirrored depth of the night. In this journey, we pass through gates, each with a choice, and each with a sacrifice. We face foes in friends and familiar places, and find allies that hold and support us in our challenges. It is at this junction that we meet and incorporate our shadow, and glimpse the glinting light of resolution.

Last week we met the hermit, and explored what it means to work in solitude and look inward for wisdom and truth. This week, as we approach the year’s nadir, the shadowy abyss, we find light and power in friends.

~

In this workshop we will be working together to navigate a story. We will be facing conflict and finding resolution, experiencing challenging and supportive energies, and finding comfort and strength in community.

What to expect:

✺ Collaborative storytelling / storymaking

✺ Making with clay

✺ Writing / journalling

✺ Group discussion

~

What to bring:

✺ An object from your home or an object that reminds you of home

✺ If you feel more comfortable writing in your own notebook/journal, or with your own pen, please bring them

✺ There will be water / tea / snacks, but if you'd like anything else, feel free to bring it with you

✺ It sometimes can get a little chilly in the space, if you get cold bring an extra layer / pair of socks to make sure you'll be comfy and cosy

Two requests...

✺ I kindly ask you to arrive at least five minutes before our start time. Starting late can mean less time for sharing which can sometimes create the most precious moments.
